Your skin loses its capability to adapt to your face’s movements as you age. It loses its elasticity and dynamic wrinkles develop. These are the lines that appear on your face when you squint your eyes, cry, frown, smile or make other facial expressions. The RHA Collection is the newest collection of dermal fillers in the market and they’re the first and only FDA-approved hyaluronic acid fillers for dynamic wrinkles. This new innovation is made by Teoxane, a Swiss company whose Founder and CEO Madame Valerie Taupin also co-created Juvederm which dominated the hyaluronic filler market before RHA.
What Are RHA Fillers?
RHA fillers are dermal fillers made from a type of hyaluronic acid designed to closely resemble the HA that naturally occurs in your body. They are designed to target dynamic lines and wrinkles caused by repeated facial movements you make in your daily life such as laugh lines, smiling, frowning and squinting. RHA fillers can smooth out these lines, while giving your skin elasticity of expression for a natural, younger-looking face. Results are immediate and long-lasting.
There are four fillers in the RHA family:
RHA 2
Softens dynamic lines and moderate to severe volume deficits such as radial check lines, giving a natural, soft-focus look.
RHA 3
Provides noticeable, refined smoothing for moderate to severe dynamic wrinkles and folds such as marionette lines and wrinkles around the mouth. RHA3 is firmer that RHA2.
RHA 4
The firmest filler in the RHA family and can be injected deeper into the skin to fill out and erase stubborn lines and wrinkles folds such as nasolabial folds.
RHA Redensity
A versatile fill which gives a fine-tuned finish and can be used for for stubborn deep lines around the mouth, and can be used to soften lines around the neck, cheeks and ear lobes as well.
What Happens During Treatment?
Before starting any treatment, we will have a consultation with you to decide which filler is best to suit your needs and expectations. On the day of treatment, the area of your face to receive the injections will be cleansed and prepped. To ensure your comfort, we may apply ice to the area or use a topical anesthetic before your injections. While you may feel a small pinching sensation, RHA fillers are designed to minimize any pain or discomfort during your procedure.
We use a very fine needle or cannula to go into your skin at the proper depth for the filler being used and inject the filler into the targeted area. The number of injections depends on the size of the treatment area. The average treatment time is about 30 minutes.
When Can I See Results and How Long Do They Last?
Results from RHA fillers are immediate and continue to improve for the next two to four weeks. The natural looking results are long-lasting, up to 15 months.
Are There Any Side Effects or Down Time?
There may be minimal side effects such as bruising, swelling or bumps, which should disappear over course of a few days to a week. We recommend you sleep on your back for the first 24-49 hours to minimize any swelling that may occur.

The purpose of the development of the Revance RHAs is to achieve a more natural look with the use of less synthetic ingredients to preserve the ability of the solution to mimic natural HAs in the skin better. RHA Collection Products
The RHA Collection consists of three products namely:
RHA 2 is used for treating moderate to severe dynamic wrinkles and folds when injection site is in the mid-to-deep dermis.
RHA 3 is used for areas around the mouth, nasolabial folds and commissures. 
RHA 4 is appropriate for heavier lines and folds located on the lower face and jawline. It’s used to inject into the deep dermis to reach subcutaneous tissue in the process of clearing wrinkles and folds. 
What exactly are dynamic facial wrinkles and folds?
When you were young and wrinkles would form on your face when you laughed, cried, smiled or frowned, the collagen and elastin in your skin would allow it to return to its original form. However, as you age, your skin loses its ability to adapt to the movements of your face and bounce back to its original form. When this happens, dynamic wrinkles form. Repetitive movements and loss of collagen and elastin are not the only causes of dynamic wrinkles. Other causes include: exposure to the sun, pollutants, toxins, and smoking among others.
Recovery
It is possible for the treated area to swell after being injected and if this happens, an ice pack applied on the treated area should help reduce swelling. However, avoid leaving the ice pack on the treatment area for a prolonged period of time when the anesthetic is still in effect as this may cause thermal injury.
What makes RHA Products different?

RHA products are made to resolve the same problems, but they are designed with less chemical modifications which helps the filler mimic natural HAs found in the skin. You shouldn’t be injected with Revance RHAs if you have severe allergies to gram positive bacterial proteins, hypersensitivity to anesthetics such as lidocaine or bleeding disorders.
