Varicose veins, those ugly twisting enlarged veins that often appear in our legs as we age, are the result of failing valves within the veins themselves. The veins in our legs have one-way valves, which help to keep the blood flowing upward to our heart and lungs. When these valves weaken or fail as we age, blood pools in the vein and varicose veins result. Fortunately you don’t have to live with this unsightly and often uncomfortable affliction.
Varicose veins are enlarged veins which appear in the legs, and can affect both women and men at any age. They are the result of malfunctioning valves in the veins themselves, which causes blood to pool in the vein, resulting in their swollen appearance. While large varicose veins will require sclerotherapy, we can make smaller varicose veins disappear with Non-Ablative laser therapy. The heat from the laser, which is focused beneath the skin, damages only the vein itself, causing scar tissue to form. This scar tissue will close the vein, cutting off the blood supply. Once this happens the appearance of the varicose vein will improve very quickly. Also, in most cases, after a year or two, the vein may disappear entirely as the body reabsorbs the now useless vein.

Typically less pronounced than varicose veins, spider veins, left untreated may eventually develop in to more severe leg veins. Spider veins can be very effectively treated with non-ablative laser therapy. Click here for more information.
More pronounced varicose/leg veins may not be effectively treatable with laser therapy. For these cases, we also offer traditional sclerotherapy treatments. Click here for more information.
Actual patients treated for the similar condition of Spider Veins with the Aerolase Laser.
All laser treatments at MagnifaSkin MedSpa are delivered with the revolutionary new Aerolase® LightPod Neo® medical laser. Delivering light pulses 30 – 50 times faster than other lasers, the Neo provides virtually pain free treatment. In fact many patients report feeling nothing at all other than a slight warming sensation. Other lasers, which deliver higher energy pulses of light at much longer intervals, result in the sensation of having a rubber band snapped against your skin. This is due to the large amount of energy being delivered with each pulse. Because the Neo reduces the amount of energy delivered with each pulse while greatly increasing the number of pulses, energy delivery is ‘smoothed out’, resulting in little or no sensation for your sensitive skin.
