Do you want to get a healthy, sun-kissed glow without risking the harmful effects of sun damage? Or do you have a big day coming up where you want to look your healthy best? If so, you may want to consider a spray tan.

Spray tanning is a safe way to get that glow you are looking for. A spray tan is a tanning product that is sprayed evenly over your body by a spray tan artist. The active ingredient in spray tanning, dihydroxyacetone, DHA for short, interacts with your skin’s amino acids to give your skin that golden glow. The color can start appearing within a few hours after your appointment.

Before a spray tanning appointment, it is a good idea to exfoliate your skin and shave. If you do this the day of your appointment, be sure to rinse off with cold water to ensure your pores are closed by appointment time. Also, try not to apply any creams or lotions before your appointment, as the create a barrier between you and the tanning product.

You will want to wear loose clothing and shoes to your appointment, as wearing tight clothing after application can streak or change the results of your tan.
