How Scar Reduction Works
While it seems counterintuitive to treat damaged tissue (scar tissue) by causing further damage, that’s exactly how laser therapy works. By causing minor trauma to the underlying tissues with laser generated heat, the body is stimulated to repair the damaged tissue with new tissue, and as a result to generate new collagen and elastin. The result is new, healthier and more normal looking tissue.
Some minor scars resulting from surgery, burns or accidental trauma can be almost completely erased with Non-Ablative laser treatments. Larger scars can have their appearance reduced, sometimes dramatically and complete scar removal is possible in some cases.

Delivering light pulses 30 – 50 times faster than other lasers, the Neo provides virtually pain free treatment. In fact many patients report feeling nothing at all other than a slight warming sensation. Other lasers, which deliver higher energy pulses of light at much longer intervals, result in the sensation of having a rubber band snapped against your skin. This is due to the large amount of energy being delivered with each pulse. Because the Neo reduces the amount of energy delivered with each pulse while greatly increasing the number of pulses, energy delivery is ‘smoothed out’, resulting in little or no sensation for your sensitive skin.
